Coco · Open-source agent

AI that works with your files and tools

Coco is an open-source agent that turns a request into work with files and tools in your environment. It can consult documentation, create content and work with code.

Coco · CLI

From request to result.

Real runs with demonstration files. First, documentation and actions; then, a code change checked with tests.

01

From documents to an action plan

Request
Read two documents for a fictional project, summarize requirements and create an action plan.
Result
Coco reads the files and creates PLAN.md. The result is checked against the input documents.

02

A code change and its tests

Request
Find why a total calculation ignores quantities, fix the function and run the tests.
Result
Coco reads the code, observes the failure, applies the change and reruns the tests without changing them.

Tools to work, models to reason.

Read and create files, run local tools and connect integrations through MCP. Permissions and available actions depend on the configuration of each environment.

Choose where context is processed

Coco supports external providers and local models through Ollama or LM Studio. It sends the request and selected context to the configured provider: running it on your computer does not make every model local.

Configuration must also cover tools, connections, logs and backups. We evaluate hardware, answer quality and execution times for each installation.

Coco Runtime: a foundation for other agents

The terminal interface is one application of the Node.js/TypeScript runtime. Its reusable foundation supports assistants with providers, tools, sessions and permissions defined for each use case.

Knowledge and action in your own environment

We propose combining ETHAN’s visual interface and document knowledge with the tools of a locally installed Coco agent. This connection is not implemented yet.

Generation and embeddings in your environment

  1. Question in ETHAN
  2. Source retrieval
  3. Task proposal
  4. Review or authorization
  5. Execution with Coco
  6. Result in the interface

For example: consult an internal procedure, identify the applicable steps and prepare a document or file changes from one interface.

With documents, index, embeddings and model in your infrastructure, information can be processed without external AI APIs. Tools, MCP, web search, logs and backups must also be configured for that goal.

How they would connect

A local adapter would exchange bounded requests and results while preserving ETHAN’s document permissions. Coco would not receive unrestricted database access or access to every document.
